Philipp initially took up photography while on a backpacking trip to Nigeria, before returning to the UK to study medicine. But an invitation to YEEZY’s first fashion show led him to take time off from his then-NHS job and head to New York. “Finessing” himself into Kanye West’s network and heeding his advice to do what makes him happy, Philipp decided to create full-time. Today, Philipp’s fashion and portrait work spans a variety of clients including: Channel 4, Soho House, Vogue US, i-D, Virgil Abloh X Off-White, Monki, We Present, Ganni and Hunger magazine. He credits Nick Knight and Nigerian photographers of the 1960s and 70s for helping him to define his own style.
